Our first practice of the season is tomorrow at 5 pm. We will meet at the Olympic oval. We normally meet at the stairwell just outside the Olympic oval main entrance (lime green on the map below).
In case anyone runs to the oval and forgets their mask (and can’t go inside) I will meet anyone inside at the stairwell then everyone will move outside via the North Entrance (see map below).
The plan tomorrow will be an easy run down to Edworthy and followed by group core strength. The core strength is a great chance to do introductions.
The first week or two will be easier runs. In a couple of weeks, we will start doing running intensity on Thursdays.

Fall training will start on Tuesday, September 14th. We will have two weekday running workouts each week.
- Tuesday at 5:00 pm starting at the olypmic oval
- Thursday at 5:00 pm starting at the olympic oval
We will meet at the stairwell just outside the entrance to the oval. After a few weeks, we will likely switch the meeting spot outside.
Depending on interest there may be a fall Saturday workouts added. Once there is snow there will be weekend team skiing workouts.

Fall training will start in the middle of September. We will once again have two weekday running workouts. Day and time will be posted in early September.

Fall training will start on Tuesday, September 10th. Meet just outside the entrance to the Olympic oval (on the stairwell). Please meet by 5:25 pm and we will leave at 5:30 pm. Team workouts will be shorter the first couple of weeks and slowly get longer as everyone’s legs get into running shape.
Training will just be on Tuesdays in September, then starting in October switch to Tuesday and Wednesday (I am sorting out scheduling will a new babysitter in September).
If there is interest I may try to add it workouts on other days that fit with everyone’s schedule (possibly on Thursday’s or the weekends).

The team is open to any student who has an interest in training for cross country skiing. The team is open on any level of skier. I just ask that you come out to practice regularly.
There are no official team workouts on weekends in the fall. However, weekend activities can be organized depending on interest.

The team is open to any university student who has an interest in cross-country skiing. We compete in the regional loppets within a 2-hour drive of Calgary. Team members come from varying racing backgrounds (from a lot to little or no previous racing experience).

Training for the 2017/18 ski season has ended.
Depending on interest there may be team runs during the spring (starting after Easter) and summer. These workouts are unofficial. Current team members, alumni, and incoming fall athletes are welcome to participate. Email if interested in joining us for the summer.
The 2018/19 training season will officially start in the middle of September.
The University of Calgary Cross Country Ski Team will start fall training on Thursday, September 21st. We meet on the stairwell just outside the Olympic Oval entrance doors. Please arrive by 5:25 pm. We will leave at 5:30 pm. The opening workout will be a light run down to Edworthy Park. At the park, we will do core strength and some upper body strength, followed by a run back to the Oval. If you know you are going to this workout I would love to know ahead of time. (so I know who to expect and don’t leave without you)
The team will train every Monday and Thursday at 5:30 pm, meeting at the stairwell just outside the doors to the oval. All workouts will be running.
Weekend trips to ski will be planned, starting in early November.
The team is open to all levels of skiers. The larger the team the more enjoyable it is and the more activities we can plan.
The University of Calgary Cross Country Ski Team will start team practices in the middle of September 2017. The team communicated via email (weekly team plan) and facebook group (informal training). This website is not regularly updated throughout the season.

Fall team training will start this Monday (September 26th) and Wednesday.
Monday – Meet at the stairwell just outside the olympic oval by 6:10 pm. We will go for a short group run down to Edworthy Park. At the park we will do core strength together for about 30 minutes before running back to the oval.
Wednesday – Again meet at the stairwell just outside the olympic oval by 6:10 pm. We will run down to Edworthy park. We will do core strength as well as some running sprints before returning to the oval.
There will not be any weekend workouts till at least Thanksgiving. Weekend workouts will depend on interest.
